Ichiban Sushi San Diego located in Hillcrest off of University Avenue has been one of "our" spots for a long time.
Take-out menu. There are plenty of options from which to choose, so there is something for everyone.

5 Veggie Rolls Appetizer...don't ask for sweet n sour sauce.
Trust me on this one. You'll get a reminder that this is Japanese, and that sauce is Chinese.
But this is San Diego, and there is "fusion" happening all over the place that it's hard to keep up. So it never hurts to ask for what you really want. The reason I tell you not to ask is because I already did it for you.
Fried Vegetable Appetizer with tartar sauce. I don't understand the combo, but it's really the only sauce available, so we ate it.
Zucchini is one of my favorite vegetables fried.
Tiger Roll : Shrimp on top, crispy shrimp and "crab" inside.
California Roll in the back has imitation crab which comes in handy for those who are allergic to real crab.
Ichiban offers low sodium soy sauce, which is just as delicious as the full sodium episode. I love it, and really appreciate it! Thanks, Ichiban.
Our total meal for 3 people was around $30, including two orders of fried vegetables and a root beer fountain drink.
The reason our bill was a tad high was because we MISSED happy hour by a 1/2 hour.
